Brandt Jobe’s 19-year victory wait is over at Principal Charity Classic

Time was churning backward in front of Brandt Jobe’s eyes.

Back to 1998 in Japan, the last time he’d felt the glee of a professional win.

Back to 1983 in California, the first time he’d met his college roommate and one of his primary competitors at this year’s Principal Charity Classic.

Back to holes 15, 16 and 17 Sunday afternoon at Wakonda Club in Des Moines, the most recent times he’d made calm, measured strokes with his brand-new putter.

Minutes later, on the 18th green, it was time at last for Jobe to celebrate.
